- 2013 - 2019 Taurus Installation Notes

Please also remove the CD player, which is not shown in the video.

Power and sound: 

Camera harness for OEM 4 inch display: 

Connect backup camera adapter to the connector behind the original display. 

Connect the male RCA on this connector to a yellow female RCA tagged "camera" on the AV out cable. Do not worry about the other cable on this plug as it is not used. 

Hazard connector: 

Next we will connect the hazard cable, please locate these two plugs, one black and one grey. You will only need ONE of them. Connect it to the car side radio panel connector. 

AM/FM antenna adapter:

Connect AM/FM antenna adapter to the vehicle. You may want to use an aftermarket antenna to get more stations if you listen to a lot of radios. Or you can download iHeart radio and other radio apps. 

Connect both ends of the decoder box to the main harness. The decoder box is responsible for enabling climate control, steering wheel control and radio power on and off.

** Please do NOT connect any of the loose wires and two prone black connectors on the main harness. Please leave them disconnected as they are for other Ford vehicles. 

 

 

After connecting all the plugs to the factory side, now we will connect the harnesses to the radio. 

 

 

On the main harness, please connect the black 20 pin connector to spot "A" on the brain box. Then connect a white rectangle connector to spot "J" at the back of the radio. You can check and refer to these locations on the chart behind the radio. Do NOT connect the white connector to "I". 

 

Climate control: 

ONLY USE THIS PART WHEN AC IS NOT WORKING. 

1. Please make sure the canbus decoder box is connected. It is a black plastic box that connects to the main harness. 

2. please use the steps below to adjust the settings.

For climate control, please go to setting - install set - 8861 or 1680 - car type - choose Taurus H if factory comes with automatic AC. Choose Taurus L if factory comes with manual AC. 

Then keep protocol as "Tangdu" (DO NOT change this). Under car info, change the car info to 2016 if your vehicle's model year is before 2016 and choose 2018 if the model year is after 2016. 

After that, press "OK" at the bottom - press back arrow at bottom left of the screen - press save and reboot. 

Please do NOT change any other settings.

SONY amp:

If your vehicle comes with SONY system and the radio produce no sound after install. Please locate this C240A connector shown below:

Locate the violet / black wire circled in the picture. It is the amplifier turn on wire. 

Then locate this grey wire on our radio. It is tagged "amp power". 

Use a T tap kit to connect this grey wire to the violet / black wire on the C240A connector and the SONY system will produce sound after.
